Growing our garden and our community
All contributions support the independence of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Special Place Foundation is run entirely by volunteers.
Our replicable residential model will emphasize sustainability, with green building, ecological living, organic farming, and resources to provide a home for life.
Our "urban-farm" community will exist within the local urban community, focusing on interactions with local community members. The farm element, with agriculture and animal husbandry, will provide relief from sensory overstimulation that hampers success for many with developmental disabilities.
